ABOUT

BEAUTY
We will gather to celebrate the beauty of justice, in hopes that our presence may inspire future action.
GOODNESS
We will discover new ways to disrupt broken thinking and catalyze movements of justice with the hope to display God’s goodness throughout the world.
UNITY
We will enter as a diverse group of faith leaders, business leaders, artists, and students, and leave as unified, faith-filled activists.

Since The JUSTICE Conference was birthed in 2010, we have had the opportunity to gather with thousands of individuals around the world who share a concern for the vulnerable and oppressed. We have learned from each other, made changes in our communities, and most importantly—become better reconcilers, restorers, and redeemers in Christ. We are determined to keep chasing justice, together. Will you join us?

OUR STORY

In 2010, Ken Wytsma (of Antioch Church in Bend, Oregon) and Stephan Bauman (of World Relief) founded The JUSTICE Conference with a group of like-minded friends in Bend, Oregon. With the belief that “true life is found when we give our lives away on behalf of others,” they began dreaming of hosting an event that would impact a generation for justice. The driving force of the conference has always been what Ken calls a “theology of justice,” which is the belief that an understanding of God should compel love for others and engagement in social justice issues.

The JUSTICE CONFERENCE has since been an annual event, encouraging thousands of Christ-followers to live out the message of Jesus, and thus transform their communities by making justice a way of life.
In 2017, the conference will be held in Chicago for its third consecutive year. We have deliberately chosen Chicago because it is the center point on the map of America’s history, with an eye on the future that’s informed by a deep respect and understanding of the past.

Since 2010, The JUSTICE Conference has also been hosted in Hong Kong (China), Melbourne (Australia), Auckland (New Zealand), and Amsterdam (the Netherlands). It is one of the largest biblical and social justice conferences in the world, bringing a diverse mix of Christian leaders together to wrestle with issues, learn from one another, and leave with a better understanding of how to personally engage in justice issues at home and across continents.
